Buying a tile cutter is a necessary undertaking for any DIY tiling project. The main issue is deciding whether to go with an electric option, a traditional unpowered manual tile cutter, or indeed both. My recommendations at the bottom of this guide have changed slightly recently because of an incredibly good experience with a tile cutter which I think is easily the best value tile cutter I’ve ever used. read more »

If you’re thinking of buying a wallpaper stripper – wallpaper steamer, steam stripper, or steamer (there are just so many terms for this tool!), you’ve clearly had enough of sponges and buckets of warm water, products in bottles that promise they make stripping so much easier, and scraping away till the small hours and cursing the fact that you keep digging holes in the wall. We’ve all been there, and to be honest, unless it’s a very small area of paper, I won’t even entertain stripping walls without having a wallpaper stripper to hand. read more »

Buying paint brushes will almost certainly be an undertaking for every DIY enthusiast, and choosing the right options can often be a little tricky because of the vast array of options on the market. Pure bristle or synthetic? Are cheap brushes OK? Do I need loads of sizes?
